The CTSA Pupil Forum was officially launched at the start of the 2022-23 academic year. The aim of the Forum is to ensure that as a Partnership we champion and support pupil voice, and also support the values of democracy and citizenship.

Following a formal application process, each school appointed two pupil Forum Ambassadors who attended an introductory session and were provided with tools to explore a selected topic under the overarching theme of ‘Safe and Well’. They were given a choice of the following:

  • Being active
  • Feeling safe in the community
  • Healthy body, healthy mind
  • Positive mental health
  • Eating well
  • A safe planet

and used presentations in assemblies, suggestion and voting boxes, School Council meetings and other means to identify the key priority for their school and peers.

The Ambassadors continued to investigate their topic throughout the year, and came together at King Edward VI School in July to present their findings. Those listening were hugely impressed with the rigour with which they had undertaken the role, and the quality and content of the presentations.

As the CTSA Pupil Forum is re-launched for 2023-24 we hope that more member schools will engage and use this opportunity to truly empower their pupils to make a difference.
